Exa + nomad forums agree: the sweet spot is 1–3 months per city, but Airbnb prices vacation nights and year-leases want 12. Coliving bundles rent + coworking + people. Pick 2 — how you actually solve mid-length stays.

Options
- Coliving — pay more per night, save on isolation and coworking fees
- Airbnb monthly discount + café hopping (classic)
- Facebook/WhatsApp lease deals — higher risk, higher reward
- Hostel private room month — don't judge, it works
- Hotel loyalty / extended stay hacks for 30–45 days
- Split: 2 weeks Airbnb, then coliving when I'm lonely
- Negotiate direct with landlord after week one
- Just pay the Airbnb pain tax and complain online
- House-sit / pet-sit platforms for free rent
- Corporate apartment via employer (rare unicorn)
- Friends' spare room rotation across cities
- I never stay 1–3 months — that's the whole problem
