Grand Slams still require top singles stars to sometimes play mixed doubles for prize money and points incentives. Good for the sport, or a waste of a superstar's energy?

• Good for the sport. Fans get to see rivals and stars in a format they'd never otherwise play.
• A waste. Risking injury in a low-stakes format makes no sense for a top seed.
• Only good if it's genuinely optional, forcing it defeats the purpose.
• I only watch mixed doubles when a big name is actually in it, so it works on me.
