Would you rather take a lower salary with real equity at an early-stage startup, or a high salary with equity that's probably worth nothing?

- Equity, always. I'd rather gamble on upside than optimize for comfort.
- High salary. Equity at 99% of startups ends up as a rounding error.
- Depends completely on the stage and the founders, not a fixed rule.
- I want both, and I've learned to actually negotiate for it instead of just accepting the offer.
