The US trade regulator has ordered nine companies, including Delta, United, Uber, DoorDash, Instacart, Target and Walmart, to explain how they use personal data to set prices. It wants to know whether two people can pay different amounts for the same ticket, ride or delivery, for example because of loyalty-program use. Delta and JetBlue say they don't use personal data to set individual prices. What would you do if you found you pay more than others?
