Thailand's finance minister says the 1,000-baht air departure tax will probably not go ahead for now, and the public consultation closed on October 29. A separate 450-baht entry fee for foreign visitors arriving by air has not been cancelled and could start in the first quarter of 2027. Since October 16, airport staff may also open a checked bag without you present when the X-ray flags something, with the search filmed. Would a 450-baht fee change your Thailand plans?
