From November 1, Indian telecom operators must show the caller's name on your screen when an unsaved number calls, switched on by default on 4G and 5G networks. The name comes from the SIM's registration records, and international calls show up as International Call. People who have asked for caller-ID restriction are left out, and your saved contact name always comes first. Would you rely on this instead of Truecaller?

- A name won't stop scam calls
- SIMs are shared, names will mislead
